The date code is the first three digits of the serial number on the nameplate mounted on the top of the motor housing. You can identify whether this applies to your tool by locating the Date Code on the toolThis only applies to tools whose Date Code is between 482 and 583.

The lower blade guard spring of these models can accumulate dust from cut material such that the lower blade guard may not function properly. Improper lower guard functioning can result in serious injury.
