must have addition to the 1617evspk router combo kit
Just got the 1617EVSPK router combo kit with fixed and plunge bases, and am very happy with it. After using it a few times and getting dust all over my workshop I decided to get these attachments. The bases come with small plastic chip deflectors that do a small part of the job of dust and chip collection. These do the rest. They are used in addition to (in combination with) the basic chip deflectors, and work well. The adapter does connect nicely to a standard 1 1/4 inch vacuum hose. I like to keep my workshop clean and the dust out of my face, so these are well worth the price. Without them the chips fall where they may.
When the router is in the fixed base, it is easy to change bits or even collets, without removing the router from the base. You can even leave the dust extraction piece in, you just pop out the chip deflector. With the plunge base it's not so convenient, but you just pop the router out of the base, still don't need to remove the dust extraction attachment from the base. The router kit comes with a big heavy duty molded plastic case, which is great, but there is no room in the case for the dust extraction attachments, and the bases won't go in the case if you leave the attachments on. Not a big problem.
