It's about time. Great tool!
I've had a Bosch corded jig saw for almost 20 years. An incredibly good and useful tool. But if any tool were crying out for cordless status, the jigsaw is it. I can't tell you how many times I've come close to sawing the cord in half.
This new Bosch uses the same batteries from my Bosch drill. It works even better than my old corded one. The only issue is that the battery hanging off the rear makes it heavier and changes the balance. Heavier is ok as the cutting surface supports the saw. The balance is something I'm sure I'll get used to.

compact, light and effective
I've only had this saw a few days, but have been very impressed with its ease of use and effectiveness. Since I had a spare battery and charger from another kit purchase, I just bought the bare tool, which made the cost more reasonable. It comes with three saw blades, but I also bought a blade set, T18CHC, which came with a nice box for all the blades, and an L-BOXX-2 to put everything in. It all fits nicely. My only problem is that now I have a bunch of different types of saw blades and need to figure out which one to use for each job. The Bosch online Power Tools and Accessories catalog has some useful information on pages 212 and following. I tried the scroll blade on some scrap wood and it works great for making curved patterns. It is really easy to do.
