Great saw, but bring a broom...
I've had this saw for 2 years now, and it has been excellent. It required a couple minor adjustments at initial setup, but has been rock solid since.
I use it on a separate stand, so I carry it in and out of the truck regularly, but I find if I carry from behind it is well balanced and is actually easier to carry than previous saws I've used.
It's compact footprint both in use and while stored is a dream. It takes less room than the old 10" slider.
The upfront controls work well, but the locking lever is just begging to get snapped off - it always feels a bit loose, not in keeping with the rest of the saw's quality. At least it's not plastic!
BUT... the worst thing about the saw is the dust collection. Oh gosh. It may be better than some, but it's not good at all. The bag is useless - toss it. Even with a 2" hose on a BOSCH vacuum, dust is everywhere on mitre and bevel cuts. The only cut that is clean is a vertical sliding cut. The problem is the inlet chute is too far away from the blade - Bosch engineers: get the suction right behind the blade in the shroud or blade guard, like you would with a grinder! And make a retro fit available for us to use on our existing saws!

Superb piece of design ingenuity
Works awesome. Followed set up instructions and saw did need some minor adjustments. Adjustments are easy.
Operation is smooth.
Buy this saw.

craftsmans dream saw
this saw is such a quantum leap from the old technology, it must have been designed by carpenters with engineering degrees.
all i could think after my first day working this tool was:"where have you been all my career?"

Awesome saw
This saw is the best I have ever used. Two years in and have not had a problem with it. Very nice how it can hug the wall so it wont take up floor space.
