JSH180 18V Li-Ion offers one-handed blade change, more compact size and lighter weight

LAS VEGAS- July 20-23, 2011 – Bosch Power Tools, the inventor and undisputed leader of professional jig saws, now offers contractors, woodworkers and homeowners the prestige and precision design of a Bosch jig saw in an 18V Lithium-ion cordless model.

The new Bosch JSH180 18VLi-Ion Jig Saw boasts the smallest size, highest battery run time, only single-handed blade change, and best grip design of all main cordless applications.  It’s also compatible with both fat and slim pack batteries, enabling most system tool expansion options.

At 5.3 lbs. and 10 x 3 x 7 inches, the 18V jig saw is 30 percent lighter and 10 percent more compact than the leading cordless competitor making it more manageable in all work situations, including overhead and inverted positions.  It has the shortest side and front offsets as well, enabling use in awkward and limited spaces.

The Electronic Motor Protection (EMP) and Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) systems recognize motor overload and protect the jig saw by monitoring and adjusting usage conditions, shutting down when overheating could be damaging the batteries or the motor.   The systems function by continuously controlling the discharge current, the temperature of the battery pack and the discharge status to its pre-programmed limits so that the jig saw proactively prevents damage to itself.

The only jig saw available with one-handed blade change capability, the JSH-180 allows for fast and easy blade insertion and ejection thanks to an innovative design to improve overall ergonomics with the shortest trigger to blade distance in its class.  With the smallest grip circumference, 15 percent smaller than the leading competitor, the JSH180 jig saw reduces user fatigue during extended use application.

The new cordless jig saw comes with 2x Fat Pack Batteries, a 30-minute charger and a bag for convenient carrying.

Other features of the JSH180 18V Li-Ion include:

  • Variable speed trigger for maintaining precision in all cutting applications.
  • Adjustable Footplate for bevel cuts up to 45 degrees.
  • A powerful dust blower in constant operation to clear cut lines for best views.
