The Bosch 1380Slim is low-maintenance, lightweight and ready for continuous operation.

The Bosch 1380Slim is perfect for metal fabrication, concrete finishing and restoration, pipe fitting and tuck pointing.

Ergonomic ‘Slim’ Grip Provides All Day Comfort and Control

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 17-21, 2011 – The new 1380Slim 4½-inch Corded Angle Grinder from Bosch Power Tools & Accessories is packed with power for continuous use but, with a slender 2.28-inch grip circumference, is the most ergonomic angle grinder in its class. For metal workers, vehicle fabricators, plumbers and other professionals who use a grinder daily, the 1380Slim maximizes all-day comfort and control on the job.

At 4.2-pounds, the 1380Slim is optimized to provide 7.5 amps of power with an operating speed at 11,000 RPM allowing users to perform a wide range of cutting and grinding applications over an extended period of time including metal fabrication, concrete finishing and restoration, pipe fitting and tuck pointing. For added convenience during prolonged use, the 1380Slim also includes a lock-on side switch for continuous operation.

Until now, no other manufacturer has been able to pack this much power into such a small package. Bosch engineering was able to design a highly efficient motor with extremely small field diameter. This innovative motor offers more power in a smaller size than a traditional motor used in most 4½-inch grinders.

Known for the incredible durability of its entire line of grinders, Bosch took additional care to ensure the 1380Slim could endure the rigors of all day use by adding features to prolong the 1380Slim’s life with limited required maintenance. Directed air flow diverts dust away from the vital components of the tool to extend product life, and epoxy-coated field windings protect the tool from abrasive dust and metal debris. Bosch’s Service Minder™ Brush System shuts the tool off when preventative maintenance is required. Finally, the 1380Slim has removable brush caps that provide easier and faster access to the brushes, hence, reducing servicing and maintenance time.

The 1380Slim comes with an auxiliary handle specifically designed and angled to a “natural” position for maximum control. The tool also includes a wheel guard, flange kit, spanner wrench and abrasive wheel. The 1380Slim-K model also includes a carrying case for tool storage and easy transportation.

The 1380Slim and 1380Slim-K fit standard 4 ½ -inch discs and work with most common accessories. To find out more or to find a local dealer, visit www.boschtools.com or call 877-BOSCH-99 (877-267-2499).
