 Compact Tools Feature Optimized Performance

Atlanta, August 22, 2012 – Bosch Power Tools is launching a new line of 18-volt, ¼-inch hex standard duty impact drivers, the IDS181 Impactor line, delivering best-in-class application control and featuring an ultra-compact design. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, HVAC professionals and other tradesmen can take advantage of the tools’ optimized performance for great results, fast.

Tools in the new IDS181 Impactor line feature a compact head length of just 5.4 inches and a lightweight design of just 2.9 pounds to deliver the best balance and control for 18-Volt small- to medium-duty applications. The tools’ compact size also facilitates work in hard-to-reach spaces.

Optimized impact performance provides the best runtime and control, and optimized torque limits stripping and cam out of screws and shearing off of screw heads. In fact, the IDS181 line delivers 42 percent more runtime compared to similar in-class competitors, along with 15 percent less torque and 10 percent more speed for the best application control.

A Bosch patented, three-LED white light system provides shadow-free illumination for the best visibility in low-lighting applications.

Superior ergonomics are provided via slim soft grip in key areas for maximum comfort and control during fastening applications. A compact grip design of just 2.3 inches from the tools’ trigger to the back of the handle relieves hand fatigue over extended use.

The tools’ Bosch-built hammer and anvil system provides maximum impact endurance, increasing tool life and performance. The new impact drivers also feature an intelligent electronic protection system, including electronic motor protection, which increases motor life by protecting the motor in overload and stall situations, and electronic cell protection, which doubles battery life. A durable belt clip offers users quick tool storage between applications.

The tools’ Flexible Power System is compatible with every 18-volt Lithium-ion Bosch battery – both FatPacks and SlimPacks.

The new impactor line is available now through authorized dealers nationwide. Kits range from a suggested price of $169 for the IDS181-102 with one SlimPack battery, $210 for the IDS181-02 with two SlimPack batteries and $259 for the IDS181-01 with two FatPack batteries.
