Vacuum is EPA Compliant When Used with HEPA Filters
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 17-21, 2011 – Bosch Power Tools is upgrading its industry leading Airsweep™ 13 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum Cleaner Vacuum products with new filtration and containment options for improved dust control and disposal. When Bosch Airsweep Vacuums are used with Bosch HEPA filters, it exceeds EPA requirements when cleaning potentially hazardous lead-based materials, enabling contractors, remodelers, painters, plumbers and other tradesmen to comply with the EPA’s latest ruling to prevent lead contamination and poisoning.
The new Airsweep Vacuum offers four different collection systems to make jobsite cleaning more convenient, safer and extra effective: What makes the new 3931A-PB Airsweep Wet/Dry Vacuum different from the original 3931A is the containment system, which includes a plastic bag that augments the paper, slurry and tank-only receptacle systems found in the original 3931-A.
Bosch’s compatible 10-gallon heavy-duty plastic bag is exceptionally tear resistant and holds more than twice the amount of concrete dust as paper bags. And plastic bags, unlike paper, have no pores for dust to pass though or clog the system, allowing the vacuum to work more efficiently.
The 3931A-PB comes equipped with a new VAC0PB tank, which contains a special air valve to equalize the pressure inside the tank and prevent the empty bag from being sucked up around the filters. The tank also contains a hose port cap to further capture dust after the hose is removed. As with the original 3931A, the PB version features a water level sensor that turns off the vacuum when the water level inside the tank reaches maximum volume.
When used with Bosch VAC019 HEPA Filter Cartridges, the 3931A-PB exceeds the EPA’s Final Ruling on lead, remodeling, repair and painting by capturing 99.997 percent of all contamination particles 0.3 microns in diameter or larger. For everyday use, Bosch’s standard polyester filters offer fine dust filtration capabilities, capturing up to 99.93 percent of particles 3.0 microns and larger in diameter. A HEPA filter is included in the Bosch Airsweep 3931A-PBH.
The 3931A-PB offers three operational modes for any jobsite clean up: regular vacuum; power tool activation with Pulse-Clean™; and Pulse-Clean™ only. Pulse-Clean is Bosch’s exclusive electromagnetic filter cleaning system that shakes the dual filter cartridges to remove dust and maintain maximum suction power. In power tool activation mode, the 3931A-PB’s power tool switch turns the vacuum on, but when turned off, the vacuum runs for an additional seven seconds to clear the hose of remaining debris. The Power Broker™ dial mechanism operates in power tool activation mode to allocate power between the vacuum cleaner and the connected power tool to optimize power usage and avoid blown circuits.
The 3931A-PB’s 6.5 Max HP/11.1 Amp motor with soft-start and bypass cooling provides powerful suction while protecting the motor to prolong the life of the vacuum. A rugged polypropylene tank with large rear wheels and front casters with rubber tires makes the 3931A-PB durable on any jobsite. With both a push handle and carrying handle for easy transport, its compact size allows it to fit into crowded storage vans and tight storage areas.
The 3931A-PB weighs 45.7-pounds and comes with a 35millimeter 9.85-foot locking hose, a 25-foot cord, two polyester filters, a paper bag and a plastic bag. Various compatible nozzles kits, hoses and attachments are sold separately anywhere Bosch vacuums are sold.
